Beste lezer,

Welkom op mijn blog. In deze pagina's zal ik een dappere poging ondernemen om mijn creatieve uitspattingen op het gebied van papier te bundelen. Hierbij valt te denken aan scrapbooken, doosjes, beplakte Altoids tins, maar ook aan boekbinden. Ik heb naast het werken met papier nog veel meer andere bezigheden (kleding maken, kostuumgeschiedenis, borduren, breien, weven, haken, vlechten, sprangen, knopen etc. etc.), maar daar heb ik weer een ander blog voor.

Voor wie zich afvraagt waar de titel vandaan komt, dit is een uitspraak die ik heb geleend van boekanier Gijs, een neefje van Holle Bolle Gijs die zich in het sprookjesbos van de Efteling bevindt.

Welcome to my blog! Here in these pages I will bravely try to bundle my creative paper crafting outbursts. In this blog you will find posts on scrapbooking, decorated boxes, altered Altoids tins, but also bookbinding. I have many interests aside from paper crafting, like sewing, costume history, embroidery, knitting, weaving, crocheting, braiding, sprang, knotting etc. etc. (but you can find these on another blog :))

This blog's title is a bit difficult to translate. In the Netherlands there's a themepark named 'The Efteling'. One of its most popular and famous attractions is Holle Bolle Gijs ('Hollow Bulging Gijs'), an original waste paper basket. 'Papier hier!' he constantly calls out to the visitors of the park (roughly translated as 'Here with your paper'). Many variations of Gijs are scattered across the grounds of the themepark. For instance, there's one in the Fairytale Forest, 'Buccaneer Gijs'. For the title of my blog I thought it was funny to use Buccaneer Gijs's version of the famous quote: 'Papier daar! ('Over there with your paper!')
